Dr. Aram Kim, DMD
Dr. Aram Kim is a compassionate and talented clinician who practices a full scope of prosthodontics, including contemporary fixed, removable prosthodontics and surgical and prosthetic implant dentistry. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics.
Dr. Kim was born and raised in Seoul, Korea. She attended the University of California, Berkeley, and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering. She worked as an engineer in the Biotech industry in the Bay Area, then pursued dentistry at Harvard School of Dental Medicine. Upon receiving her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, Dr. Kim received the Norman B. Nesbett Award and the American College of Dentists Outstanding Student Award for her achievements in clinical excellence, leadership, and academics. She then completed her three-year advanced graduate training at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), receiving a Master of Science in Oral Biology, and a Certificate in Prosthodontics. With her Master’s research thesis in implant dentistry, she was honored with John J. Sharry Award, the top national research award for prosthodontics residents. After her specialty training, Dr. Kim worked as a Clinical Assistant Professor at UIC; taught fixed and removable prosthodontics to predoctoral students; and also treated patients in private practice. She returned to Boston in 2015 and has been an Assistant Professor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine, teaching medical and dental students from medical interviewing, diagnosis, and treatment planning, to prosthodontics treatment. Dr. Kim is also an attending prosthodontist at Boston Children’s Hospital, providing comprehensive prosthodontic rehabilitation for pediatric and young adult patients with craniofacial anomalies, trauma, and cancer.
Dr. Kim has won many honors, including awards from the American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, American Dental Education Association, as well as the Outstanding Achievement in Teaching Award from Harvard School of Dental Medicine and the Excellence in Mentoring Award from Harvard Medical School. She is a Past President of the American College of Prosthodontists Massachusetts Section and lectures nationally on prosthodontic treatment and dental education.
When not working, Dr. Kim enjoys spending time with her family. She loves traveling, camping, singing, and making art with her two daughters.
